Welcome to the World, Samuel James

Samuel James was born on November 8th at 4:07am CET (10:07 EST) in Heinsberg, Germany! He weighed 3360g (7.4 lbs) and was 53cm (20.8 in) long. Mom's water broke at 12:40 am and she had very long, strong and quick contractions. She wanted an epidural but the anethesiologist was busy with the other woman giving birth. By the time he got to Ty it was too late for anything!

Baby Sam is doing great and so far is such an easy baby to live with. Anyone who remembers our first will understand what I mean by that!! Posted by Picasa

On Friday the 27th we took Luke to Schinnen Army Garrison for the Trunk-or-Treat event. He had a great time but was scared of the witches and ghouls... Is he cute or what?? Posted by Picasa

Anyway, In the next few days I plan to post some more pictures at our web album site. It's totally free to view pictures, and NO SIGN UP! The pictures are very high resolution and lots of viewing control is provided... if you're on dial-up still then good luck!

Grandma and Grandpa Novak Visit!

I apologize for not updating in nearly three months... Not much has happened worth updating everyone about. Ty had really bad all-day sickness due to the pregnancy and wound up going back to the U.S. for over six weeks. I went TDY to Greece and Italy for three weeks but didn't do or see anything worthy of a picture. On May 25th at 7:30 am Ty and Luke arrived at the Brussels, Belgium Airport... and 45 minutes later Mom & Dad Novak arrived there too! We've been having a European Vacation ever since!

This picture is from our little visit to the city of Valkenburg near Maastrict in the Netherlands. We visited the ruins of one of the greatest Dutch castles in their history. We also toured a cavern that had World War II history and the names of many soldiers along the walls. Luke was fascinated the entire tour!

We just returned from Disneyland Paris yesterday... As can be expected Luke loved every minute of it! He got to ride on a real steam engine, meet Mickey Mouse and Buzz Lightyear, and eat lots of popcorn! What more can a kid want? Posted by Picasa

Finally... A Picture of Rob & Ty

Our friend Jim asked us to post pictures of us, and upon reveiwing three years worth of pictures in Picasa we realize that almost ALL of our pictures are of Luke. This scan is of our Christmas 2005 portrait... Hopefully I'll remember to take more pictures of Ty and I together when we're doing things! Posted by Picasa

Luke's 3rd Birthday Party

Luke turned 3 years old today! Luke had a birthday party at Pee Wee's in Niederheid, Germany. He had nine friends total show up to his Thomas the Tank Engine themed party. The kids mostly ran around on the giant jungle gym and the great ball pits, but we managed to sit them down to birthday cake for a few minutes. Luke was very excited about everyone signing happy birthday to him; he really ate it up.

Three years old in six days!

Today we got Luke's third birthday pictures taken! Here's the cutest ones in our opinion. We should have the 5x7 and wallets by the end of the week to mail to everyone. We are getting 5x7's of the second picture shown here, but will be cropped to look like the first one. I just included the standing picture because we liked it so much!

Great news!

I think we'll be finding out who actually reads our blog pretty soon! Posted by Picasa

Another computer geek in the house!

Luke now has some new skills! He has his own Windows XP Profile set up complete with Jay-Jay the Jet Plane wallpaper, a slow mouse speed setting and all the links to his favorite cartoon characters. He is able to use the mouse (with both buttons set to "left click") very well! His favorite site is the Thomas and Friends website which has some pretty good games. He is very good at playing memory at the difficult setting and putting the Lego puzzles together. Not being able to read the order of the pieces, he just experimented until he got them put together! Now he flies right through them! Posted by Picasa

Kara and Luke

I found a folder of pictures that was copied onto my notebook computer during Christmas... We were looking through Picasa and started to wonder "where the heck are all the pictures we took in New Jersey???"

Found 'em! Posted by Picasa
